DIGITAL SKILLS

Our Digital Skills Programme is designed to improve the digital confidence and capabilities of refugees. We train Digital Champions to provide one-to-one IT drop-in sessions and online group training sessions. Our Digital Champions are made up of both volunteers and previous refugee clients.

Screen Share’s Digital Drop-ins provide refugees with tailored support to develop their digital skills across a range of areas, including managing their asylum application with the Home Office, accessing healthcare, preparing for future work and using communication platforms.

Digital drop-ins are one element of our digital skills support. We also do group sessions (currently at the Islington Centre for Migrants and Refugees but soon to be in-house) and bespoke digital skills workshops for clients.

When they feel ready, we invite those who have completed the courses to join us as Digital Champions, providing them with a space to share their newly acquired knowledge and skills with others in a similar position. This allows us to teach in multiple languages and offer refugees responsibility and community.

If you’re from a refugee background and would like to attend one of our digital skills programmes or would like to refer someone from a refugee background, fill out the form below.

BECOME A DIGITAL CHAMPION

Digital Champions are volunteers who teach digital skills to refugees. You don't need to be an expert - just to know your way around a computer and be comfortable explaining this to other people.
